JWT Integration

As Issue #242 was posted over over a year ago with no response or closure, I would like to open a similar request for integration of JWT support into the plugin. This would be greatly beneficial to me and others. My current app application in development relies heavily on JWTs for sessions and this would be immensely helpful.
