Need New Student Column

Hi, I am a noob in this field. I need more Columns added to the Student Table as per my requirements. I think I will be able to create new columns via PhpMyAdmin. I don't know, how I will be able to show those new columns on the front-end for Student data entry & Student reports. Any help will be highly appreciated.
