Can't choose apps from external file chooser after updating phone

I recently updated my Oneplus One from the Lineage equivalent of 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 (about 6 months since I last updated), and now I can't use an external file chooser like Amaze to attach a file in Clover. If I restore my pre-update backup, it works fine.

It may be hard to reproduce, because I don't know exactly what's causing it. All I know is that I did a factory reset, installed the new Lineage nightly, and then set up my phone again; after that I got this issue.

Let me know if there is a log or anything that may be useful in finding the source of this problem.

What happens when you try to attach an image? Does it crash? Does it only update one app?

@Floens When I try to attach an image, it gives a toast message "Failed to open file". If I use the default file picker or Gallery (the system app), it adds the picture to the post.
