Support for plain text files with different extensions used for data files

Would be cool to add support for data files commonly used in many fields All of them are just plain text

.dat .asc .xy .xye .out .inp .cif .xyz .gzmat

... and many more. As these are all plain text file could be possible just to update the kMDItemContentType for each of them?
