Add conditional light activation
I have light in my living room that turn on at a specific hour of the evening. Is there a way to configure the app where when I stop/pause the app reverts to the previous light state instead of a statically chosen one?
What would be even nicer long term would be conditional configuration. If light x is on and media is played do y.
That way during the day when I play no lights turn on but in the evening they do.
Without making the logic and selection system too complex, perhaps I can add an entry under Stop/Pause that restores the state of the lights in the room that the Play scene is using to what they were before Play was pressed. Then perhaps down the road there can be more complex behavior where you can restore individual lights.
I do already have plans to be able to manually disable a client profile as well as create a schedule or use sunrise/sunset times for your location.
Hey, thanks for your reply. I think that a "restore state" option and a simple schedule option under each client config would be the easiest to implement and achieve 80%. If I had to pick between the two, I would choose the schedule option.
For a far future implementation this is my setup: I use a hue motion/light sensor to trigger the lights after the room reaches a specific level of light and it sees movement, so it follows seasonal changes instead of a fixed schedule. Being able to trigger either based on light level of the sensor would be the ultimate automated solution.
Manual schedules and sunset/sunrise time and location options have been added into the recent release v1.2.2. However, I will keep this issue open for the time being to continue to look into the option of "restore state".
I have added a new option in the Clients for Stop and Resume called "Restore Pre-Play". This will restore the lights to the configuration they were at when you pressed Play.
This change can be found in the newly released v1.5.0.
