You mention great points and I will have to test them out to figure out a better way to manage the Windows prompt. In the meantime try this: https://github.com/cogitatio/vagrant-hostsupdater#windows-uac-prompt
What version of vagrant are you running?
Can you [determine what the machine ID ](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37622689/is-it-possible-to-determine-the-id-of-vagrant-vm-in-the-vagrantfile) of your VM is?
Because this repo is abandoned. I cannot get full control from Faulk. Best longevity is to fork it.
I'll test this out locally.
@Spartelfant good catch on this bug. I will make a check for a hosts file before attempting a write.
Yea that should be picked up. Can you share your VagrantFile so I can reproduce?
I think you are referencing this issue that you opened. https://github.com/Varying-Vagrant-Vagrants/VVV/issues/1821 Let me know [the version of Windows 10](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027391/windows-10-see-which-version-you-have) you are running and I will try to duplicate it on...
1.1.1.160 is the correct version
That is strange.... It shows 1.1.1.160 on the rubygems interface
