I believe I'm looking for something similar. I want to be able to run photorec in headless mode i.e. as part of a script or an overlay program.

Is this the same as what you're looking for @erkinalp ?

I have a POC working and would love to know if this is something the maintainers would like to see a patch for

FYI: got it to work but it's nowhere production ready, and was pretty much vibe coded, I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing it in the current state. Unfortunately I won't have the time to clean up and make a PR for this. I hope someone else does and we see this feature eventually make it's way :)
