I think the issue is Apollo Federation support was added back in 2020 for v1 of Federation and hasn't been updated since for v2.0 or newer

I would recommend adopting HTML's definition of a valid email address which is used for email inputs. https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/input.html#valid-e-mail-address
How do the maintainers see this working? Would the gem just switch the classes in place to use GeoJSON and leave the migration up to users? Include a rake task...
