Hi, I have the same question. Certera is a really nice solution and we would like to use it as a company. Therefore we need to know how reliable the CVS in case of future changes and if it's still compliant to the current status of Let's Encrypt.

This software is no longer maintained since mid 2020 (https://github.com/certera-io/certera/graphs/code-frequency). Unless another dev team wants to fork this repo, you should look for another tool (like these ones : https://letsencrypt.org/docs/client-options/)

I'm wondering if the current license would be a problem even though it is now unmaintained.

Here to update. The license is restricted for forking and further development. Since it's not maintained anymore, I am assuming it's not sustainable financially. If this is the case, wouldn't it be better to change the licensing so that people can fork it and move on?

I would very much like to see a fork or the opensource development of certera.

For example, I am still missing a cert deployment (post hook) but with the current license this does not seem to make sense to me to invest in the existing code.

Furthermore it is difficult to estimate how long I can continue to use the product.

I forked it, for fun but unfortunately not for profit. I migrated it to .NET 7, adlns did minimal changes. Yet, I cannot use it for my business. I guess I will move on with Netflix's Lemur, unless some things change about certera.

I normally wouldn’t try to “steal” users from another project but since this appears to no longer be maintained I’ll make an exception.

I’ve been building a similar application with Golang and React. It’s still in beta but I think I’m getting close to confidently releasing a stable version.
