Error we get when we try to edit/update user attributes, after updating template using “Delete conflicting fields”

After making major changes to a metaTemplate (by deleting fields) and updating cerebrate using "Delete conflicting fields", we cannot edit user attributes, because cerebrate displays the error: "User could not be modified. Reason: MetaTemplates: This field is required"
