[Linux] Weird lag spikes for no reason

Open t0mtee opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

I'm running:

  • Debian 12
  • KDE Plasma 5.27.5
  • Wayland, but also happens on X11 (more noticeable as I can uncap FPS) And my specs are:
  • Ryzen 5 5600
  • RX 6700 XT
  • 32 GiB RAM log.txt image Here's a frametime graph - I am simply standing still, there's no shader compilation or anything, but my FPS will go from 70 to 40 and then back up to 70 after a few seconds for seemingly no reason.

I built Cemu myself on commit bab1616 with this script.

Turn off SAM and retest, there are odd performance issues with it in current drivers.

Thanks for the response! The issue still happens with SAM disabled (I disabled Above 4G Decoding and Resizable Bar in BIOS) and after disabling all optimizations in my build script.

image Also happens on AppImage

Continues to happen with all mods except FPS++ disabled - I've tried all the frame average and fence type options, it continues to happen image

image Happens outside too

I have:

  • Verified my game installation (the DLC and Update was corrupted but I have fixed that)
  • Tried using both RADV and AMDVLK, no difference (at least I'm 90% sure I set up AMDVLK correctly. Mangohud says I was using Mesa but using the same ENV variable in Yuzu, Yuzu itself tells me It's using AMDVLK instead of RADV, so I used the same ENV variable for Cemu so it should have used AMDVLK)

This is probably not caused by CEMU, test in another heavy game, be it within CEMU or native/Proton/Wine with uncapped FPS and see if the same occurs, or see if disabling FPS++ resolves the issue.
