After starting DNS+Firewall Hotspot does not give IP adresses anymore to connecting clients (even after stop/uninstall/clean flash)

Hi there, A Moto2015 (3. generation), on Lineage 16.0, freshly flashed (clean flash) acts as a hotspot (4g--> WIFI) in my home network and worked flawlessly before the next steps. Yesterday I installed RethinkDNS on it. After starting DNS+Firewall with hotspot enabled, new clients could not connect to the hotspot anymore. They stayed at "obtaining ip address" and never connect. So i disabled DNS+Firewall in RethinkDNS, and even then, it does not work. So I deleted the System/dalvik/cache/data and flashed the same android again from TWRP and even then it did not give any difference. Clieents could still not connect no matter if rethinkDNS is on or off. Could you help me with this issue? It looks like that RethinkDNS might have changed something in persistent or in the modem?

Rethink does not affect anything fundamental in the OS. It most certainly doesn't deal with Thethering / Hotspot at all (unlike apps like Mygod's VpnHotspot, which are more powerful). In fact, effecting such permanent changes is beyond the remit of the VPN-related APIs Rethink uses. It doesn't use any commands with root, for example. I am at loss as to what might have happened, but this issue doesn't seem like it is with Rethink. It could be the custom ROM has a bug?

Then how could you analyze the connections? Here you are hiding behind common words. Your favorite company doesn't allow you to filter connections by their uids. And you are undoubtedly conducting local MITM attacks on all the analyzed connections. Which of course can lead to a variety of effects. Finally, describe once for everyone how you analyze the connections. Instead of blaming PCAPdroid that something is being done there without proper respect for Android API.
