[Feature Request] option to show despawn countdown on the map for each pokemon

Open philcerf opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Hey.

I think the most crucial feature missing right now, would be an option to show a despawn count down timer over each Pokemon on the map.

This is especially important when one does e.g. shiny hunting tours per bike, where one wants to click as many Pokemon as possible and thus needs to find a good order in which to check the ones on the map.

Clicking on each of them and looking up the countdown in the balloon info, just doesn't scale.

Thanks & cheers!

Even better would be, if one could colourise the displayed time, based on the value. Or maybe have it hardcoded if making it customisable seems overkill: 1h-30min: dark green 30-15min: light green 15-10min: yellow 10-5min: orange 5-3min: red 2-0min: dark red... or maybe brownish or blinking

I like the colouring idea. Although timers are useful they are also very ugly. However im a bit concerned about the impact on performance this would result.

I Think you need something else for this. Like a stand alone route calculator that works just like MADs prioQ. If you get a list of coords from that you could use any existing route planner to find you the best route.

This would also solve your issue #157 AND #156

Hmm I don't see how it would solve #157, which is about making it easier to remove Pokemon I've already visited, especially when e.g. wearing gloves.

These Pokemon could be all in rather close proximity and have a long despawn time... yet I still would want to get rid of them to keep an overview, where I've already been.

And as for #156... the colouring as actually pretty similar, yet not exactly the same. 156 says to completely hide those, while the colouring would still show them (making it a tiny bit harder to get an overview... especially in bad light situations).

Also, the colouring would be independent of the distance.

Depending on complex one would want allow the interface to get... one could possibly do a combination of both ideas, where people could set a number of: (range from-to, despawn time, colour) tuples, where one special case for colour would be invisible which not only hides the countdown timer but of course the pokemon itself, too.
