Prerequisites | Prérequis

Describe the feature request. | Décrivez la fonctionnalité demandée

I’d like to request the addition of a datepicker component that can be available for us to use. This feature would allow users to easily select a date from a visual calendar rather than manually typing one in, improving user experience and reducing input errors.

Desired Features: Calendar-style UI for selecting a date

Configurable date format (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD, MM/DD/YYYY)

Option to set min/max selectable dates

Support for default/pre-selected date

Accessibility-friendly (keyboard navigation, screen reader support)

Describe the use case. | Décrivez les cas d’utilisation

Our application includes numerous date input fields, each governed by different business rules—some require restricting past dates, while others disallow future dates. A centralized, configurable datepicker component would help enforce these rules uniformly, across all government agencies who wish to use this component.

Describe the preferred solution. | Décrivez la solution souhaitée

Describe all alternatives. | Décrivez toutes les solutions possibles

Right now we're using a custom datepicker but would be beneficial if we can streamline the look and feel of datepicker across all government web applications.

Provide related code or examples. | Fournissez du code ou des exemples pertinents

There is another issue opened asking about when we'll have a Date Picker here in #902. If this is a component you'd also like, could you react on the description with a thumbs up emoji? Thank you.
