Description of changes

Came across this via doing some research and noticed the Newsletter sign up doesn't work - thought I'd plug this in, plus some tidy ups 😄

Changes:

• remove: newsletter component and references
• refactor: github spelling
• refactor: year in footer
• remove: ds_store, update gitignore
