Flushing CardView INIs for a fresh start

Open emyoulation opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

I just downloaded & installed version 0.93 of CardView. Thank you!

To properly test required clearing all the .ini files ... and there are a LOT of them to find: 3 INIs for each supported view category, a database (will there be one for each Tree?), and a template INI. Any others?

Foreseeing utter chaos supporting CardView issues (that may frequently traceback to massively tweaked configurations) does not require a psychic. The Default & Minimal Template selections on a "per View" basis will help significantly. But a broader reset might be needed. It might even need a Safe Mode for anyone other than you to do effective troubleshooting. The View Changes highlighting settings that are not "default" will take some acclimatization.

Could we have a "nuclear" reset feature that flushes all CardView related INIs? I anticipate database INIs that refer to deleted elements or have other unexpected incompatibilities that cause views to lockup. Or maybe a selectable one that nukes the selected Category/Categories of INI: view, sidebar, bottombar, database, template.

Labelled enhancement for moment, need to think about it more.
