Invalid cert on https://join.spinnaker.io
When I was trying to join the Spinnaker Slack workspace this morning I encountered a NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID SSL error when following the link located on the spinnaker.io homepage.
Since the spinnaker project is part of the CD Foundation I thought this would be a good place to raise the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to https://www.spinnaker.io
- Under the "Join Spinnaker Slack" section click the hyperlink for "join.spinnaker.io" (which links to https://join.spinnaker.io).
- A SSL error appears stating that the certificate is not valid.
I've confirmed the error with Chrome 88.0.4324.146 and Safari 14.0.3 (in addition to Safari on iOS)
Can confirm on FireFox 85.0b9 (64-bit) / macOS as well
@tunderwood thanks for the report, I'll ping the Spinnaker team to see if we can get this updated.
It seemed like this was working for a while but the same issue is coming up now. @galemccommons
@prophen thanks for the update, pinging IT on this. I'll keep you posted.
Hi @prophen - it looks like LF does not manage the DNS for Spinnaker to get this fixed, this is managed under herokuapp. Here's the record we found:
CNAME join.spinnaker.io join-spinnaker.herokuapp.com
