Shell does not work properly with number of in channels different of out

Hello,

ChucK shell goes crazy when --in number is different of --out. OS X 10.14.6, ChucK 1.4.0.0. I'm using an Expert Sleepers ES-8 interface (4 in, 8 out), and whenever the number of in channels is different than out, the behavior is nonsensical with outputs repeated (mod in). This is not the case with miniAudicle, but only in command line.

I've been building a chuck environment to use in my live performances, any help on the situation is very welcome.
