iOS App Store Rejection for stringForColumnIndex:
We were just rejected with the following message:
Non-public API usage:
- The app references non-public selectors in Frameworks/{redacted}:
stringForColumnIndex:
If method names in your source code match the private Apple APIs listed above, altering your method names will help prevent this app from being flagged in future submissions. In addition, note that one or more of the above APIs may be located in a static library that was included with your app. If so, they must be removed.
Doing an Xcode search of our project, stringForColumnIndex:
only appears in fmdb.
For reference, seems very similar to this: https://pspdfkit.com/guides/ios/current/announcements/private-api-rejections/
Build was with fbdb 2.7.2, included with Carthage.
Other folks have run into this in the past as well. I'd push back, and say you're not using a private api. I know hundreds (thousands?) of apps are using FMDB in the app store, so I'm not sure why they are singling you out.
