Can't post anything when using Firefox

Open Hurricane472 opened this issue 1 year ago • 12 comments

I'm on Windows 11 22H2 build 22621.1702 using Firefox 113.0.2 and I can't post anything. When I click "Get Captcha" it says "Please wait" for a while and then doesn't show anything. Chrome and Edge work perfectly

Same issue. If i turn off 4chan x, I can post properly. Is 4chanx compatible with firefox?

Do you have any other add ons running like uBlock or another ad blocker? If so, disable those and try again. If not, could you check the console for any errors. Which userscript manager?

Same here. This happens once per day. I get this message: "Checking your browser before accessing sys.4channel.org." Nothing happens, and then it just disappears.

Once I turn off the extension I can get a captcha immediately, and after that I can get one even with the extension turned on.

Firefox 115.0.2 Violentmonkey 2.15.0 uBlock disabled, no change.

Just as another potential avenue, head to your settings and check your JavaScript whitelist in Advanced - what does yours look like? image

Ok this is embarassing. I was still on 1.14.22.1. Updated now and it's been working for me for the last few days. Sorry ;_; Wondering if it's working for @Hurricane472 and @Braferdon as well?

I'm also getting the same issue. reinstalled the latest version of 4chanx

my Javascript is exactly the same as Saxa's

@Patient6038 Does it happen on a fresh profile with no other extensions? Which userscript manager?

It worked with a new profile (I only installed 4chanx and the script manager). 2023-08-13_00-13-08 currently using these scripts with 4chan.

Then unfortunately, the problem doesn't lie with 4chan X.

If it works with a new profile, then something on your original one is causing the problem. Go through the extensions one by one/try to determine what is different compared to a fresh one to identify the culprit.

Odd. I went back to my profile, disabled every extension (both userscript and regular extension) except violetmonkey and 4chanx, and I still got the issue.

Could be a corruption of a database/setting somewhere. Maybe you've changed something in about:config.

Install the beta or a no update version from the changelog (essentially another copy of 4chan X) and does that work?

those didn't work. Looks like it is indeed something to do with Firefox's database/settings then. Earlier I did try making a new profile, and then after removing the new profile, my old one was corrupted. So It's something on my end then I guess.
