ctrl+left and ctrl+right not working on chrome macOS

Steps to reproduce

Open this fiddle on chrome on a mac http://jsfiddle.net/3rtfqpm6/ click the result tab and press ctrl+left

Expected result: Alert box with 'Hi'

Actual result: Nothing happens

Also doesn't work on Firefox 89.0.2, Safari 14.1.1 (MacOS 10.15.7)

ctrl+shift+left works, though.
