Please explain how to navigate to the right disk and directory

I can't figure out how to point FSearch to the disk and directory I want to search. It's stuck in my Steam folder, and will not go anywhere else. I tried File > Open Folder, to try to browse through to the right disk and directory, but got "Something went wrong. Launch failed." I checked help, which has nothing except the search syntax link, and the search syntax page, which has nothing relevant.

A clear explanation, on the Help page, of how to point FSearch to the desired directory.

FSearch will search in the folders specified in Preferences -> Database -> Includes

I know the documentation of FSearch isn't anywhere close to being complete, but like with many other open source applications that's simply because I have more fun coding than documenting. ^^ But eventually I'll get to that, or preferably someone else comes first; user contributions to improve documentation or translations are always highly appreciated.
