Add option to update database before closing down

Open wujastyk opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

What a great program. I use it many times every week. Thank you!

May I suggest an option to run the db update routine as part of closing the program down, rather than on opening it up for a search. I want everything: quick search and updated db. At present, I have to wait while the update happens. Would it be nice to just do the search, and have the update happen after I say "close program," so that it can take place after I've moved on to my next task? Thanks again.

Yes, this will be possible in the future.

Any chance you could include a feature to automatically update the database every couple of hours? or add some way to do it programmatically through the terminal by passing an argument? It would be easy to automate it through a bash script and set up our own schedules. I recently switched over from Windows 10 and using voidtools Everything and it would always update in the background, so i could instantly pull up a file that i had created and closed out of 15 seconds before.

Edit: Just realized that this thread is a year old. Woops.

Edit2: Just found that this is already included through the use of "fsearch -u" Nice!
