Pop!_OS support possible?
Is it possible to add support for Pop!_OS(as in: should I even try to)?
Possible problems:
- Systemd-boot instead of Grub by default
- Pipewire audio system by default
- No docker/server/minimal image available
Pros:
- Based on Ubuntu
- Different(imo better) built-in gnome extensions(not sure how easy it is to install those on stock Ubuntu) with auto-tiling
- Snap replaced by flatpak
- A few fixes to stock ubuntu
- Very Easy to setup full encryption
@MilkyDeveloper I would be happy to try and implement this, but Id just like to know if its theoretically possible. I am not expecting you to add support to Pop!_OS.
It is based on ubuntu which is based on debian (so It's surely theoretically possible)
Shouldn't be too hard (just pull out the rootfs, look at the docs for custom distros), but I would reccomend waiting a month until I package this up for UEFI.
Now that UEFI breath will be a thing all Linux distros will be supported, so there is no need to support PopOS for "legacy" breath
