Consent-O-Matic does not spoof trusted clicks

Open eligrey opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Your click mechanism does not spoof event.isTrusted (e.g. see https://stackoverflow.com/a/53488689/78436).

Due to this current limitation, your extension is unable to automate setting consent preferences for Transcend Consent Manager, which requires genuine user interaction to set consent.

Do you have any examples of specific sites where this issue arises? Is this the Airgap.js-based system? Most of the customers they mention on their home page either do no longer seem to use Transcend (switched to another provider) or doesn't comply with GDPR and cookie rules at all (giving people no option to disagree, implicit consent).

@svnhub Yes, this is the airgap.js based system.

Our customer logo wall primarily represents Privacy Center customers.

Instead of providing you with a list of customers that use our consent manager, the best place to test our consent UI is on our own site. We don't invoke the consent UI automatically.

If you scroll down to the bottom of transcend.io you'll see that there is a data collection preferences link which triggers a UI if you are determined to have any user-applicable privacy legal regimes.

Re:

giving people no option to disagree

Users with applicable privacy regimes get the following UIs if the website using airgap.js chooses to use our default consent UI module.
