Continuous input from third-party controllers

Open Dacrenzio opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

When I play single player games, like Zelda BOTW, with an original and a third-party controller (my pro controller and a ps4 controller) or 2 third-party controllers (2 ps4 controllers), the Switch keeps asking which one of the two controller I want to use. It's like the third-party controller reconnects immediatly and it's impossible to play as long as you have the controllers connected.

Also during some proves I managed to get the HORI battlepad back to normal for a short time and not as an XBOX 360... but the procedure is a bit complicated, random and works as long as the pad is connected after this strange procedure (connect PDP or pro controller, connect a third party controller such as PS4, disconnect the PRO controller and connect the HORI to the same port and eventually the HORI now is back to normal but the PS4 controller is frozen (disconect and reconnect it and the ps4 is back to normal)).

Environment

  • Switch version 10.0.2
  • Version of Atmosphere 0.12.0
  • Version of sys-con 0.6.1

sys-con sends input as frequently as the controllers send their input packets. For example, PS4 controllers will send their packets pretty much constantly, while the xbox 360 controllers will only send packets when the state of the buttons has been changed. I almost want to say that this is intentional, but is this really that bad of an issue that you can't unplug the second controller while playing single-player games?

Nono, it's really not a big deal. I just wanted to mention this ""problem""... this is like a super minor "bug" but I wanted to mention it anyway just in case you want the controllers to work as the original ones
