AuthnRequest with extensions/attributes

Open Pedro-Leitek opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hello

My company is using your plugin on a moodle platform to authenticate users by SAML, but we noticed that there is no feature to add Extensions/attributes. The idea is to send a Authnrequest with these extensions/attributes, so that the idP can respond with values of these attributes. Then the info should be automatically inserted in moodle fields (like mapping). I'm sending you a screenshot of the feature we need. I was wondering how much time this could take as the moodle platform is for a client and we need to give this to them ASAP.

Thank you for your support

@Pedro-Leitek if you're wanting a quote and timeframe for development on the Saml2 plugin it's best to reach out privately via our contact forms - all our international offices have developers familiar with our Saml plugin so choose the office that best suits your needs, however I wouldn't expect anything to possible this side of christmas....

@danmarsden The idea was to know if there is a configuration to activate these features. I mean I have access to the code, so I could edit it. The idP is from Portugal authorities and have info from each citizen. We just want to grab that info and put it on moodle. Since it is not possible to implement this until christmas, I can do it, but I would need some info regarding how the code works. For instance what file is responsible to create the SAMLRequest? What is the hierarchy of the files responsible for this process?

Thanks

sounds like a cool project! :-)

Unfortunately we don't usually have the capacity to provide free mentoring help to developers trying to understand how to implement any of our plugins in their specific situation - as Moodle Partners we do provide commercial integration, development and training services to organisations like yourselves, but you might have to do some digging around further yourself if you're looking for free help. I'll leave this open here because there are a lot of us that read these tracker issues and someone might have time to come back and make some comments, but we are all pretty busy doing work for our existing clients at the moment.

Good luck!
