When following forum reply link in email, user gets 'Sorry, guests are not allowed to post.'
Confirmed on: Moodle 3.3 (SAML2 version 2017051500) Moodle 3.4 (SAML2 version 2018032900) Moodle 3.5 (SAML2 version 2018071100)
Steps to recreate: -Have dual login set to no -Create a course with Social Format -Enroll user in course who has Forum notifications set to no digest (for the speed of getting the email) -Post a forum message -In the email notification, click the reply link -Login via SAML2
The user will be directed to the error message below, but note that it looks like the user is logged in in upper right:
If you hit F5, the user is then redirected to the forum reply window, as expected.
If the dual login is set to yes, and the user logs in via the SAML2 button, this error does NOT occur.
I have taken a look around in the code, but nothing is jumping out at me. I am guessing that some session key is not being set/updated before the forum loads when the login page is redirected to the SSO?
Thoughts?
Thanks for the awesome plugin!
I have this error as well and it applies to all direct links: assignments, forums, etc. First the permission error, then after pressing F5 everything is fine.

Can someone please verify this, because it's a mayor showstopper when notifications are send by Email and direct links don't work anymore....
Just to add: we are on Moodle 3.6.2 and have the latest SAML plugin installed.
There's a problem occured while using SAML2 authentication.. In the SAML2 settings, it si enabled for Dual login and e-mail logins are allowed.. Desktop system is working properly.. But Mobile application could not be logged in.. Moodle 3.7.2 and SAML2 plugin version 2018071100. Is there any way to fix Mobile application login problem via Saml2? (Btw, if SAML2 disabled, normal login is working on Mobile app.)
Do you have 'typeoflogin' in your moodle settings set correctly?
See: https://docs.moodle.org/en/Moodle_app_guide_for_admins#Mobile_authentication
Thank you very much, it is solved my problem :)
Hi there Is there any update about the issues raised about deeplink problems. We are also experiencing issues with 2 of our clients who have problems using deeplink to a course resource in Totara. If you are part of the admin group deepling works OK, but if you are not part of the admin group, then on first login user reaches the course page and not the activity, using F5 or clicking on the link again, will launch the course resource properly.
We are using the latest plugin 2019022100. Is there any fix for that?
Any update for this issue?
Follow up this issue, any update?
We are also experiencing this issue here (latest version, Moodle 4.0)
