As a node I want to de-rep a node if I receive a message I don't expect

Should we decrease peer reputation when the type of response it sent doesn't match the request you have in cache?

  • Yes because that person is trying to send us a wrong content so they might well be up to something malicious
  • No because that person might not be the person behind the response, instead it could be someone trying to de-rep them on by sending bad messages on their behalf...

Is the correlationId enough to decide that the person responding is the one we sent the message to? Otherwise they shouldn't know this correlationId right?
