New gameplay mode idea, 'Metropolis`

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

it would be great to have a new map generation system dedicated to progression.

Describe the solution you'd like

  • the world is composed of a single metropolis. player starts from its outskirt.
  • zombie evolution is off by default.
  • outskirts are mostly harmless, with farms and fields and minimal amount of enemies.
  • the city becomes bigger denser as you approach the heart of city, from small village to downtown into forest of buildings. more and stronger monsters
  • labs are scattered throughout metropolis, albeit at higher density near core.
  • lab finale and numerous megalabs are located at the heart of city.

Wouldn't this already be possible to achieve by simply setting the city spacing to 1 or 0, while maximizing size of cities?

Sorta, but this doesn't have the custom things (like labs in the heart and density changes) OP is asking for

And from what I've seen when Let's Players on Youtube do that you tend to start inside the city already in deadly danger not on the outskirts where you might have a fighting chance to hit some houses on the edge and retreat to the farms and fields that I don't think a city spacing 1 or 0 with max cities map usually has.
