Block advertising more intelligently and effectively

What possibilities does Ephemeral offer to block advertising more intelligently and effectively than other browsers? Is it possible to do without complex and external adblocker solutions and plugin systems?

No. Epiphany already has an example adblocker but thats what you have to duplicate.

I have no idea on how it all works technically, but is there any way you can build in filter lists from something like uBlock Origin? I've always found the Firefox plugin to be brilliant for all around blocking. Perhaps even have a way to add/remove lists to customise it. But perhaps that's getting away from the simplicity of Ephemeral?

as long as there is no auto-play on ads (or videos in general), why is there even need for adblock? cookies etc. are destroyed anyway.

So that ads don't get loaded at all. Pages will be faster to load, consume less bandwidth, look much cleaner and any malicious code of tracking the ad may contain won't ever get loaded.

I was surprised to see ads loading with Ephemeral. I have limited amount of data pr. month and it is important to not waste it on visual interference. Why not add option to block? Many places in the world the fbandwith is small - don't be evil, block the ads please!
