No, `update(0)` is used to let `tqdm`'s awesome logic determine if a `refresh()` should be performed.
not sure what you suggest @chengs. Do the tests pass with your proposed changes?
I'd prefer if you add to this branch (explicitly commit revert commits if you need to) rather than overwrite
