Hover at point mode doesn't seem to work

On latest Emacs master, eldoc-box-hover-at-point-mode doesn't seem to show any box at all.

The regular mode works, and eldoc-box-hover-at-point shows the box at the point. It's just the at point mode that doesn't seem to work.

It looks like the cause is that eldoc-box--follow-cursor, which is called in post-command-hook, hides the frame and then never makes it visible again.
