Based on your recipes I managed to build all the things in recent versions and host them on a Cygwin package overlay server in order to lower the bar for people to test it: https://github.com/kgraefe/neovim-cygwin (and also to have clean update / uninstall procedures for myself).

Thank you @cascent . Without your work I probably would have given up at some point.
