make sure scripts work on other systems too

i didn't try to make the whole thing idiomatic, but i did what ever was convenient (hence pathlib).

some scripts seem to presuppose the existence of 3/IMG_4700.MOV, but i couldn't find it either in the repo or it being downloaded in a script, so I couldn't use lipTester.py and onward.
