Noticed that there aren't any Suggested Lessons for Teaching Demonstrations for Data Carpentry Python Social Sciences Lesson

This lesson is in the alpha stage of development, so it is explicitly not recommended for demonstrations at this time. The DC ecology lesson is similar in terms of programming and might be a good alternative to use for a demo.

@tobyhodges may be able to update on the timeline of when this lesson will be moved to the next stage of development and be ready for broader use.

What if we update https://carpentries.github.io/lesson-development-training/27-wrap-up3.html and/or any parallel guides for the current system to include this step as part of the transition to "Stable" lesson (see lifecycle stage chart)? I don't think that guide is within the IT maintainers' purview though.

Once that is part of the official workflow, then we should be able to close issues like this rather than leaving them indefinitely open until a lesson hits stable.

Currently the core team curriculum team leads maintaining this list per IT maintainance policy but increasing transparency and highlighting the links for lesson developers seems like a good idea to me. @tobyhodges would this be helpful if we put in such a PR?

I think we could also add a note on the demo lesson page, so that at least trainers know why lessons are/not included.

It's a good suggestion for new official lessons, e.g. when the Data Carpentry Image Processing curriculum moves to "stable" next year, or in cases where a lesson developed in the Incubator is adopted by an existing Carpentries lesson program.

However, the audience for the wrap-up episode linked by @ndporter is community members developing new lessons in the Incubator. As the Incubator is intended for community-developed lessons, and folks there can develop lessons on whatever topic they like, marking an Incubator lesson as stable does not mean that it can be taught in a teaching demo.

For now, I think the best place to add this step will be in https://cdh.carpentries.org/the-lesson-life-cycle.html, because that has more discussion of the process for new official lessons.

I have tried to address in https://github.com/carpentries/curriculum-development/commit/e9de0ad1b161ba6199656bb3e67d20e0c0e46987, and will also update the workflow for new official lessons in the internal Curriculum Team wiki.
