Natural History Collection lessons
There have been quite a few Data Carpentry workshops at natural history museums and a general interest in data skills for working with natural science and history collection data.
@debpaul and @mjcollin have started adapting some of the Ecology lessons to use with natural history collection data.

@mjcollin @debpaul - We've just created The Carpentries Incubator GH organization to provide a single point of entry for community members to share lesson materials and discuss ideas for new lessons. Your lesson materials were previously listed in the lesson-ideas repo, which has now been deprecated. All of the issues in that repo have been migrated here. We're still working on organizing this repo, so please do let me know if you have ideas for how best to organize this information to make it accessible to the community.
Thanks @ErinBecker for helping us move this forward. @fmichonneau and I will be talking about further development of these lessons at Biodiversity Next https://biodiversitynext.org/. Other work is going on in the SPNHC organization to work on skills needs/data literacy for undergrads and collections.
To @tracykteal @ErinBecker @fmichonneau, where is the QGIS lesson? It's really very well done. https://data-lessons.github.io/QGIS-nhcdata-lesson/ It is something we do not want to lose and belongs with the natural history museum data lessons. Thanks, Deb
Thanks @debpaul for making sure to capture that lesson here. Sorry I missed it. How would you feel about transferring those lessons over from data-lessons to carpentries-incubator? We're trying to consolidate everything "in progress" here, but absolutely no rush if you've already got things set up in data-lessons the way you like. Let me know if we should transfer.
Hi @debpaul - just reaching out to see if you'd like us to move forward on migrating these lessons over from data-lessons to the Incubator. We're having some discussion sessions around the Incubator later this month and next and trying to increase visibility of materials hosted there, so it would be a good time to move things over if you'd like more eyes on / users on the lessons. I'm more than happy to take care of the transfer process, don't think anything more than approval for the move would be needed from you!
