Feature Request: Suppressing Non-Markdown Files in the folder tree

If possible could you add a setting to white-list or black-list file types in the folder tree? ie. .md .txt .png .jpeg .pdf etc.

We are currently considering showing only text files by default. Can you share how you would you this feature? Which file types will you allow and why?

If I were to try an implement this. I would probably have an initial setting to only show images and markdown files by default. But allow the user to expand the list or restrict it as they please. The reason why I suggested the dual Whitelist/ Blacklist feature was so that on could have initial settings on the Whitelist feature. Add to it as they need it. Or if they feel that the Whitelist is too restrictive they can switch over to using the blacklist feature, only blocking the file extensions that they deem unnecessary.

For initial settings I would probably stick with: .md .txt .jpeg .png .gif etc. This would allow the user to quickly determine which commonly used files are in which folder since images and other embedible media are fairly important.

This feature would not however affect directory/file completion when typing in file paths. Only what files are displayed in the folder tree on the left hand side.
