Actual: Categories and sub categories headings are in an odd order. The menu on the page has the Categories in alpha ascend order: Actions Brand Enterprise Organization Person Planning Tools

The plugin category submenu is also Alpha ascend: image

On the page as Headings, the category are in this order: Actions Enterprise Planning Organization Tools Person Brand

Sub-categories are similarly scrambled. For Actions category, plugin menu is Alpha Ascend: image

Library Page orders Action sub categories in this order: Navigation Operations Toggle Formatting Controls

Expected: Category Headings/groups on Icon Library page are ordered Alphabetically to match filter menu and plugin menu Actions Brand Enterprise Organization Person Planning Tools

Sub category headings/groups on Icon Library page are ordered Alphabetically to match plugin menu (ie Actions sub categories): Controls Formatting Navigation Operations Toggle

We have restructured the Icon library page on the website to only surface/organize by sub categories. Categorizing the icons by the main category in the dropdown and theny having two levels of headings for both category and subcategory for different sections of icons started to become crowded and harder to scan.

Organizing by category and sub category in Sketch was working well with the the cascading menu limitation we had at the time to search for an icon, but since then there are improved ways to search and find icons, without necessarily needing to know the main and sub categories. We could revisit the way we handle icon organization in Sketch to make it more consistent with how we are handling it on the website and in other design tooling if it makes sense to do so.

We are also using this same approach in our Icon Figma library and in starting to use it in our Adobe XD Icon library.

Feels like this issue has become moot with the sunset of Sketch as the primary delivery mechanism for Carbon Design tooling.
