Feature Request: Support for Appwrite Integration
Hi 👋,
First of all, thank you for creating this amazing project — it's a brilliant open-source solution for sending SMS through Android devices!
I'd like to suggest a new feature that could greatly benefit the developer community: integration with Appwrite as an SMS provider.
Appwrite is a powerful open-source backend server that already supports multiple SMS providers like:
"Twilio, TextMagic, Telesign, MSG91, Vonage"
However, many of these providers come with high costs, which can be a barrier for indie developers, startups, or projects with limited budgets.
By enabling Appwrite to work with Android SMS Gateway as an additional provider (essentially using a physical Android device to send SMS), this project could become an even more cost-effective and developer-friendly alternative to traditional providers.
This feature would make your project incredibly valuable for the open-source and low-cost backend community.
Thanks again for your awesome work!
Hello!
Thank you for your kind words about the project! I really appreciate your support.
I'm familiar with Appwrite (I even considered using it as a platform for Cloud Server in the early stages of this project) and I understand your feature request. However, I believe it would be more effective to also create this feature request in Appwrite's repository, or potentially in the library they use for messaging: https://github.com/utopia-php/messaging.
Currently, I have very limited time to dedicate to the project, so I can't guarantee when I'd be able to contribute this integration myself. That said, I've added this as a task to my backlog for future consideration.
Thank you again for your suggestion and for using SMSGate!
I appreciate you considering this feature for the future, and I completely understand your time constraints. Thanks again for your work on Android SMS Gateway. it's a great project!
Great project indeed
