Should this be used or is it considered and abandoned project?

I would say abandoned, unfortunately -- 3 years without commit to the master branch. I tried to take this project over (see #4) but wasn't able to reach the maintainer for some maintenance questions i had. Luckily, the Tauri ecosystem should eventually reach and surpass feature parity with Capacitor thanks to the Tauri team's work towards mobile (see e.g. https://tauri.app/blog/2023/03/20/tauri-2-0-0-alpha-4/#native-mobile-functionality-for-tauri-plugins and track recent development at https://github.com/tauri-apps/cargo-mobile2)
