What is the status of this project? Is it still maintained by somebody?

Last commit was 2 years ago and all dependencies are outdated as well it is supporting Electron 26 while current electron is 39...

Maybe the project should be just archived if it is not supported by anybody.

Also there seem also to be much better alternatives like Tauri

I like tauri as well but I did notice that tauri generates rather large .apks compared to capacitor android, so I would love to also use capacitor electron. I don't think this is still maintained unfortunately.
