Update torrent tracker T-0.3.18 (BitTornado) to a more modern tracker
Summary
There is an issue with https://torrent.ubuntu.com , specifically the tracker software the site uses to track torrent downloads.
Torrent clients like Transmission are having issues getting peers with the tracker when using IPv4 connections. For more info, read this thread to see what Transmission users are experiencing when using the current Ubuntu torrent tracker: https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/6216
According to https://torrent.ubuntu.com/tracker_index you currently use tracker version: T-0.3.18 (BitTornado)
Please update the tracker software to something more modern so modern torrent clients can connect more efficiently.
Steps to reproduce the behavior
- Download a torrent using latest Transmission (which Ubuntu offers in the install)
- Notice that number of peers can be as low as one, especially on IPv4 connections.
Expected behavior
I expect to connect to as many peers as possible when connecting to the torrent tracker over IPv4.
Browser/device details
This happens on all devices connected via IPv4.

@petesfrench you are mistaken. I am reporting an issue with https://torrent.ubuntu.com/ , specifically an issue with the Bittorrent tracker software the site uses to track BitTorrent downloads. I think it needs to be updated to a new version or different tracker software altogether so that torrent clients like Transmission can stop having issues connecting to peers through it. Please re-open it this issue so a website admin can see it.
@Pentaphon I see now, that was my mistake. I will reach out to our release team and get back to you with what they say.
