$10k project idea #6 - Provide Better Guidance for Dragon Naturally Speaking

Open mgifford opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

More people use voice control to navigate websites than use screen readers. Unfortunately, there aren't good guidelines for Dragon Naturally Speaking and other voice tools. Writing up better guidelines and testing tools for these assistive technology tools would be valuable. Reviewing existing documentation and testing it against the latest version of these voice controlled tools.

Even outlining what the government's best practices are would be beneficial.

There are these guides: https://bbc.github.io/accessibility-news-and-you/accessibility-and-testing-with-dragon.html https://webaim.org/blog/at-experiment-dragon/

But do they work well with Canadian localization? Do they work in French? What testing is done in Dragon? What tests are being done for speech control for Apple devices? Amazon?
