[Pub date TBD] Finding tasks on Canada.ca - themes and topics

Open Borges-Porteous opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

Draft is here: canada-ca.github.io/_drafts/2017-08-30-themes-and-topics.markdown

Explains how we came up with the megamenu, from top task analysis and organizational considerations.

Should also talk about iterative changes, such as the policing, justice and emergencies and culture, history and sport updates and management of the topic tree.

We can also discuss the updates to the footer based on analytics research and responsive design.

good one... can you get a draft up this week?

Mebbe limit to a single example for this article. then another example can be used in a separate "management of the tree" post...?

I'll work on a draft - but I'll need some back-up, since I wasn't actually on the team when a lot of the initial set up was done.

And sure, this does seem like it can be multiple articles:

  1. Making Canada.ca for Canadians: How we came up with the themes and megamenu
  2. Finding tasks across government: About the iterative changes, from theme label changes to topic tree management, to pages
  3. The footer should probably be a separate article too, perhaps linked with contact us and departments and agencies tasks.

so if you can get a first draft of the first one done this week, I can fill in the history when I'm back in the office next week.
