camunda-docs Updating Best Practices to compare C7 vs. C8 process instance migration

The best practices for versioning process definitions related to process instance migrations is focused on C7 only. This section needs to be rewritten to fit both C7 and C8.

Is this something ZPA would help with, or do we need to pull in someone from consulting? It's unlikely my team will sufficiently understand both C7 and C8 behavior to write this ourselves.

Historically these pages were not written by ZPA. I think that Consulting is the better fit for this. Could you pull in someone? ZPA can of course assist and provide a technical review.

@ingorichtsmeier what's the status of this topic? I know we delayed process instance migration work, but do you still plan to deliver this? (FYI @berndruecker, owner of Best Practices)

Hi @akeller, I can start working on this topic now.

I expect to streamline the wording to mention only Operate and Zeebe API to do any migration.
