The interface become gray when a lot of features are loaded

Open rbovard opened this issue 11 years ago • 29 comments

Is there a limitiation of the number of features displayed?

Because when loading a lot of them, the interface become gray. It seems to happen only with Chrome.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Thème Mobilité
  • Check all layers
  • Drag the map

-> The interface become gray (see screenshot)

dear Rémi, please could you provide a screenshot of a non-gray interface, for comparison purpose? thank you in advance

ochriste avatar Feb 18 '14 07:02 ochriste

ochriste avatar Feb 18 '14 07:02 ochriste

Yes, exactly.

non_gray_interface

If I enable the last group layer, the interface become gray.

Hum ok, do you have the possibility to try with a higher resolution (1920x1080)?

PS: Could you please remove the host name, it's not "public" yet. Thanks

ochriste avatar Feb 18 '14 07:02 ochriste

Ok.

I succeeded to reproduce the problem but by the look of it, it looks more like a display corruption bug in chrome itself morges_chrome

The following commit is guilty: https://github.com/openlayers/openlayers/commit/64d291ea20c8017d52613e902a88ec3e4be4fa15 Seems like the bug has already been reported on stackoverflow. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21311967/google-chrome-css-translate3d-scale3d-rendering-bug-with-big-divs

Thanks for pointing this out.

Bug reported here: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=339450

Is fixed in c2cgeoportal.

pgiraud avatar Mar 04 '14 08:03 pgiraud

Do you have an idea if the bug will be treated by OL/Chrome? Because even if we lower the ratio of WMS tiles, it happen in some cases (take a look to Morges and load some themes...). And we loose some confort because a GetMap is sent at every pan.

I know it's not directly related to c2cgeoportal, and you proposed a workaround, but it's a very annoying bug.

Thank you.

Could you maybe reopen this issue? Because the bug is not fixed yet even if it not depends directly from CGXP.

To reproduce you can go on Morges and load some themes, it's really annoying.

Thanks.

sbrunner avatar May 21 '14 12:05 sbrunner

yjacolin avatar May 23 '14 12:05 yjacolin

the version doesnt really matter, it's still broken in the laster official release

ochriste avatar May 23 '14 12:05 ochriste

oh, should I say the result may be different between the windows and linux version of chrome?

ochriste avatar May 23 '14 12:05 ochriste

@yjacolin I'm on the latest stable Windows version, currently 35

rbovard avatar May 23 '14 12:05 rbovard

It seems chrome v37 fixed the problem. Anyone can confirm?

yjacolin avatar Aug 19 '14 15:08 yjacolin

Actually, Chrome v37 should be released in ~ 1 month. This is still an unstable release yet.

yjacolin avatar Aug 19 '14 15:08 yjacolin

I think release 42 will bring all the answers!

Works fine on Chrome v37!

rbovard avatar Sep 03 '14 06:09 rbovard

You can maybe revert this commit https://github.com/pgiraud/c2cgeoportal/commit/c74968b4000c7136ae0502f4c8d7206fde993626? I did it on our dev instance and it works fine.

rbovard avatar Sep 03 '14 07:09 rbovard

This indeed needs to be changed. Furthermore, it looks like on Chrome 36 Ubuntu the problem appears too even on small browser window size so it's not only happening on Chrome Windows.

pgiraud avatar Sep 03 '14 07:09 pgiraud

We well remove it on GeoMapFish 1.6, at this time Chrome 36 will not be anymore supported :-)
