This is not legacy behavior.

This is an item logged from the To-Do and was originally reported by ADoS. If you are familiar with or can recreate this bug, please provide details here.

To clarify, this is referring to talking mode.

This seems to contradict with the bug #74 which I recently fixed. Maybe it was reported before #74 was, and #74 was the attempted fix's behavior? Anyway. I observed a monster successfully use its own graphic after fixing #74, so this is not a problem now.
