Brief overview

AS A user browsing a table with long text strings in it

I WANT these strings to be abbreviated in the table view

SO THAT they don't wreck the view of the whole table

Additional details

This probably needs the view/edit page to be conceptually split, so that users can click, eg "..." to go to the view page
