Add thumbStyle & trackStyle
Describe the Feature
Add support for thumbStyle to allow customizing the thumb shape, colour and size. Relying on an image per style can be quite limiting for simple changes. If implemented, this could make thumbTintColor obsolete.
Yes, please
+1
This feature is really important as Android have a very small thumbsize compare to iOS. With this, we will be able to resolve this.
I would advice to switch to a full RN implementation instead of fighting to maintain 3 implementations... There is this project that does it, but if you really want to keep this project and maintain it, you can check the source code.
Hello again, @Sharcoux! Luckily I'm totally happy with maintaining not three, but four different implementations. I consider it not only an opportunity to keep on learning and solving problems, but what's most important as something we (me and all amazing contributors who made their commits so far) do for users and the community.
The beauty of Open Source is the free choice you can make, considering all pros and cons of each library out there, or you can make a contribution to this library if you see areas that can be improved. But I will ask you to stop disputing this library, or disputing a reasoning behind it's implementation.
Hi @BartoszKlonowski
If the development is back on, I'll be more than happy to help, and I can update the web implementation. The issue with the current lib is that it is benefitting from the name "react-native-community", giving a false "official" impression to the newcomers, while its maintainance was a bit too light compared to the amount of users it dragged. I don't see the point of effort multiplication and my only goal is that React Native gets a good slider component that serves as reference, whoever maintains it, because it's a basic component and the popularity of a technology depends on its ability to be easy to use for new devs joining the party
Also, while the current issue is not addressed, provided the amount of people that asked for it, I think that it's important to, at least, propose them an alternative, until it is available here.
@Sharcoux The development of this library continues, please look at the commits made to this repository before posting statements that can be considered offending by owner, maintainers or all contributors who put their time into this library. Again: I ask you to stop. Contributions and development proposals and ideas are most welcome. False accusations (about false formality, lack of development) and criticism is not.
